Medical technology companies present themselves in Fukushima in November

The medical technology fair "Medical Creation Fukushima 2019" will take place on November 27 and 28, 2019 in Koriyama City, Japan. Organizer is among other things the prefecture Fukushima. Around 250 companies and institutions exhibit at the annual trade fair in Big Palette Fukushima. Fukushima is one of the largest areas in Japan for the manufacture of medical devices, with the highest nationwide rate of contract manufacturing of medical devices and related machinery. The prefecture Fukushima accomodates many production facilities of leading medical device manufacturers.

The exhibition "Medical Creation Fukushima 2019" will take place on November 27 and 28, 2018 in Koriyama City, Japan. German medical technology companies planning to invest in Japan or looking for a suitable Japanese business partner have been able to apply as participant. The selected companies can join a subsidized participation as an exhibitor and gain initial market and business experience in Japan to get in contact with suppliers and potential customers from Japan.

Besides the world’s second largest medical device manufacturer, “Johnson & Johnson”, the major US firm “Becton Dickinson” and the domestic major “Olympus” have factories in Fukushima Prefecture. Therefore the advantages of Fukushima Prefecture have been recognized by global players.

In cooperation with NRW.International, the IVAM Microtechnology Network will be on-site to support European exhibitors.
 
 
What are the advantages of participants?

 Who can apply?
  • German companies which are based in or have a branch office, production site etc. in North-Rhine Westphalia
  • Manufacturers of medical devices, instruments and its parts who are interested in developing business relations with companies from Fukushima and/or which are interested in investing in Fukushima Prefecture
  • Executives or employees with the right to make company decisions (Recommendation)

Which costs are borne by Fukushima Prefectural Government?
  • Flight to/from Japan for one person per company (In-kind payment)
  • Hotel accommodation for the duration of the program (5 nights, 6 days) for one person per company (In-kind payment)
  • Travelling costs within Japan for the duration of the program for one person per company (In-kind payment)
  • Booth with standard equipment (approx.. 3x3m) at “Medical Creation Fukushima 2019”
  • Arrangement of meetings with potential Japanese business partners
  • Interpreter (only English <-> Japanese) during exhibition and official program

 Which costs are not included?
  • Transport costs for exhibiting goods
  • Additional costs arising from additional equipment orders for the booth
  • Travel health insurance
  • Hotel expenses (e.g. food, laundry service)
  • Lunch and dinner
  • Travelling costs within Tokyo on November 29
  • Costs for exhibiting at the joint booth of companies from North-Rhine Westphalia are 500,00€*
