When the next stage of the EU “AI Act” comes into force, all companies that develop, operate or use artificial intelligence must ensure that their employees have the necessary AI skills. This includes technical understanding, legal and ethical principles and an awareness of risks. The responsibility lies with the employer - regardless of the size of the company. The obligation already applies to the use of AI-supported language models, translation tools or design software.

The EU law requires employers to train their employees, otherwise they face penalties of up to 7% of annual turnover or a maximum of 35 million euros.
