Due to the many advantages innovative laser applications are becoming increasingly important. The GFH GmbH, one of the world's technology leaders in the production of laser systems, has developed the GL.smart, a machine with up to sixteen simultaneously operated axes as an all-purpose tool for laser processing.

The smallest machine of the GL series offers not only combined machining of laser turning and 5-axis machining, but also an increase in output due to the possibility of doubled machining. On request, the machine can be equipped with a bar loading system as a loading instrument. The integration of a component handling by means of a robot also allows unmanned production if required.

Laser processing offers advantages for many areas of application

The application areas of the new production machine are diverse: customers use the GL.smart, for example, in areas of medical technology for the production of micro-tools such as tweezers, micro-cutting edges or implants. The advantages of laser processing are attractive production times due to the roughing and finishing process (coarse and fine machining) by means of ultrashort pulse laser and the non-contact, wear-free machining option for even the smallest tool sizes from almost any material.
