New and innovative production processes are always needed for this, such as 3D printing, in order to be able to manufacture computer-controlled tools - like for example implants - that are precisely adapted to a specific patient. Printed diagnostics also offers a cost-effective and fast method of producing disposable diagnostic tools that can be used for cost-effective mass testing.
At the virtual COMPAMED, a whole session was dedicated to this topic. The recording is still available on YouTube.
